Thanks to Harlan Stenn for politely pointing out the ERRATA.TXT entry. Dunno why I didn't remember reading about this on -stable..... But. I've installed the new boot0 from jhb's web page, and still she no work. Same symptoms, blank screen with a "-" (which is actually a flashing underline cursor, I think), no other messages. I also tried the boot0 from another 4.1-Stable machine - also no work. (This boot0 was byte-for-byte identical to the one from jhb's web page, so it was not a case of corrupted download!) Temporary workaround: install the (512-byte) boot0 from the 4.0 CDs using boot0cfg. This does boot just fine. Greg, Still happy to test any suggestions!
