I am trying to get a HP deskjet cp 1160 connected to a jetdirect working with FreeBSD 5.3 stable using cups and hpijs. I am not able to get a full list of foomatic drivers when setting up the printer in cups. I only see the PPD file I downloaded and it doesn't work. I am able to print using a genericdeskjet driver. However it is slow and low quality. I am unable to see the printer in applications such as Open Office. I installed the following ports: cups, cups, cups-lpr, cups-pstoraster, gimp-print, hpijs, ghostscript-gnu, foomatic-db, and perl5. I have made sym links to the cups lpr, lprm, and lpq and renamed those from bsd. I have put foomatic-rip and fomatic-gswrapper in usr/local/bin with chmod755. The scripts point to perl5. Basically I follwed the proceedure at http://www.screamingelectron.org/forum/archive/index.php/t-1155.htm __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - 250MB free storage. Do more.
