Might be the e820 or EFI metadata is somewhat erroneous?  Just speculating =

this point.  phys_segs should help.

@Rafael, bootverbose mode should print out the BIOS or EFI metadata we use =
for
understanding physical memory layout before the panic.  12.1 may print the =
same
information, but I'm not sure.  And thanks for the report, and your help
investigating!
