I'm pleased to report that idacontrol thinks the logical array is in good shape. (This is on an identical server; I moved both disks from a RAID1 array there after the first server started reporting write and read errors.) > NOTE: > > The smart utility only works on SATA or ATA/IDE drives, not SCSI. Yes. I've heard it said that "SMART isn't." This Proliant DL320 server uses a SmartArray controller and SCSI disks. SMART or not, is there a way of monitoring the health of the physical disks from within FreeBSD? thanks again! dn -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.3 (Darwin) iD8DBQFHQb1WyPxGVjntI4IRAhZwAKCzS4yKRyeJZDXm2pq+aIL8VMBKQQCfUpq3 +eThP189Kav2DSRVAgDdbDI= =coqi -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
