I recently borrowed a laptop and installed NomadBSD onto an external U= SB hard drive. It seems to work well and doesn't crash, although something initially dims the screen until the screen is unreadable except in a pitch black room. To counter that, I added a "/usr/local/bin/xset -dpms standby" line = to .xinitrc, so that it puts the screen into standby, at which point I can hit= any key or move the trackball, which turns the screen back on at normal brightn= ess. It does require logging in and then entering startx in the blind, but at le= ast it is then usable. But, to get back to the topic of this ticket, I would just like to say that it would be nice to have a usable, safe graphics stack to use with Fre= eBSD on this tower machine. It would also be nice not to continue to be ignored w.r.t. this PR. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. You are on the CC list for the bug.=
