If you want the latest and greatest, of everytyhing, that's probably the
safest way.  I haven't been keeping track of the specific fixes, so I
don't know if the fixes are isolated to the kernel or not.  

If you're working OK now, I'd say you don't need to upgrade to 2.2.1.
