Hi, I'm using cvsup to checkout a source tree that is not owned by root. Is it just me, or does somebody else also notice that every time after a cvsup wherein sendmail has been upgraded, /usr/src/contrib/sendmail/cf is suddenly owned by root? This causes the next cvsup to fail... It happened last time (the update to 8.11.2) and happened today also (with the update to 8.11.3): ===> Source cvsup started on 2001/03/06 09:41:21 Parsing supfile "/usr/local/etc/sup/src-all-supfile" Connecting to cvsup2.nl.FreeBSD.org Connected to cvsup2.nl.FreeBSD.org Server software version: REL_16_1 Negotiating file attribute support Exchanging collection information Establishing multiplexed-mode data connection Running Updating collection src-all/cvs [...snip...] Edit src/bin/stty/stty.1 Add delta 1.13.2.4 2001.03.06.03.36.19 jkh Updater failed: /usr/src/contrib/sendmail/cf/#cvs.cvsup-40013.6: Cannot create: Permission denied ===> Source cvsup ended on 2001/03/06 09:42:22 The problem goes away when I change ownership of /usr/src/contrib/sendmail/cf back to my regular user (presumably because there are no more updates in that directory). --Stijn -- Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.
