Hi,

I'm working on a patch to update the default linux compatibility
environment from linux_base (v7) to linux_base-8. The patch is at
http://www.leidinger.net/FreeBSD/port-patches/linux.diff ("cd
/usr/ports; patch </path/to/linux.diff"). It's scheduled to be run on
our portsbuild cluster, but when more people test the patch, the update
of the ports tree will be better (and the cluster will not detect
run-time problems).

So, please download the patch and update all your linux ports
(instructions available in ${PORTSDIR}/UPDATING after patching). If
anything doesn't work or if everything goes well: report back (don't
forget to tell us what you tested and provide a copy&paste of error
texts).

Bye,
Alexander.
