It stops with a NoClassDefFoundError. This can be found in different places reported by other users, too, e.g. here: http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-java/2004-February/001738.html I found out what triggers this behaviour: It is the setting of WRKDIRPREFIX=/usr/tmp in /etc/make.conf (or probably any other path).
