Well, after using fdisk a couple of times from the fixit floppy, I *did* get it to boot and it does seem to be ok (so far...). Presumably you could do the same from the boot floppy, I just wasn't thinking that straight at the time... ("aieeeeee! Why won't it boot!?!?!" =) Bill
