I made my comments based on the changes that were required in the CURRENT source tree when we upgraded the compiler in the base system. it wouldn't be a problem if the egcs package had been installed from the ports or packages. However, the original poster said that egcs had somehow been installed into the base system (/usr instead of /usr/local). Ciao, Sheldon.
