Thank you for that.  I'd gotten as far as working out that r249894 was
the probable cause but not come up with a patch.

Given that it breaks IPv4 multicast, I'm surprised no-one else noticed
it in the past 8 months.  (My excuse is that I only tried to use
multicast for the first time yesterday).  And, whilst it's _really_
late in the 10.0 release cycle, I'm not sure we want to roll a release
with broken multicast.
