You've probably got the line font8x8="NO" # font 8x8 from /usr/share/syscons/fonts/* (or NO). in /etc/defaults/rc.conf. Copy it to /etc/rc.conf and change it to: font8x8="iso-8x8" change "iso-8x8" to whatever font you use. You may as well do the same for the 8x14 and 8x16 fonts as well.
