--sdtB3X0nJg68CQEu Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Disposition: inline Dear ports committers, Since we are approaching the release of the 5.0-CURRENT Developer Preview 1 snapshot, it is important that we keep the ports collection in good condition. Therefore, if you are considering committing an update or change to an 'important' port (one which is widely used, or depended on by a lot of other ports), please: a) Be especially careful to test your change as much as possible. b) Regularly check http://bento.freebsd.org AND http://beta.freebsd.org (alpha package building errors) to keep an eye on ports to which you have recently committed, and fix any breakage which comes up. c) Consult with portmgr@ before committing really big changes (e.g. GNOME/KDE upgrades, changes to core ports like libtool, etc). At this stage we're not intending to have an extended formal freeze period, but we might choose to do one later.
