I am wondering what the general feelings are concerning CD-ROM writers and FreeBSD. I have read several posts in the archives, most seem to favor the HP4020 which I think is now out of production. Are there any problems with the newer model of the HP, the 6020? Also are the HP models really just Philips drives in a HP wrapper? Does FreeBSD only support the Philips model? And are the newer models supported such as the 2600 and especially the 3600 CD-Rewritable? Does anyone have any experiences with the rewritable model? A shell script was mentioned in a couple archived messages that had to do with burning cd-roms, is this script still around or is it just a quick compilation of the required mkfs and fs prepping that is necessary to burn a cd-rom filesystem? Are the procedures and this shell script documented in the Handbook or the FAQs? Thanks all for the help... Regards, Dan Riley
