Cc: ccp@avanticorp.com X-Sun-Charset: US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk Hi, I am using FreeBSD.2.1.0-RELEASE with ppp.0.94 to connect to IBM Net. They indicate I should use PAP instead of scripts. After connecting, I got "dial ok" and "login ok". But the machine name in the prompt never change to upper case. And it automatically disconnects after 36 seconds. During this time, I try "show route" and didn't see any extra route was added. Are there some one who has experience on using ppp with PAP and like to share his experience with me? Thanks a lot. PS. I used to connect to school and Pacific Bell and both work fine without PAP.
