There are currently 1083 of these ports right now, so fixing them individually or via PR is not efficient. That warning is really for port developers, not users. But now I see where this is coming from. gmake is a dependency for like 14,000 ports directly or indirectly so it's not touched likely. I don't want to discourage you from submitting PRs -- It's just that PRs like this aren't a good use of your time since it will get fixed anyway.
