            Bug ID: 259455
           Summary: graphics/drm-devel-kmod: loading i915kms from rc.conf
                    cause system freeze
           Product: Ports & Packages
           Version: Latest
          Hardware: amd64
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: Individual Port(s)
          Assignee: x11@FreeBSD.org

             Flags: maintainer-feedback?(x11@FreeBSD.org)

On my Lenovo Thinkpad T490 system freezes while loading i915kms (both
drm-devel-kmod and drm-current-kmod) from rc.conf as port's description
suggested. This on latest 14.0-CURRENT. System boots normally when:
- goes into single user mode, waits about 10 seconds and exit single user m=
ode
or
-load i915kms from /boot/loader.conf instead kld_list in /etc/rc.conf
or
- boot when dock station with external monitor attached

FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT #12 main-n250238-dfd704b7fb2-dirty
drm-devel-kmod-5.5.19.g20211013 from ports

Thank you.
