I have configured my machine as a ppp server, exactly as mentioned in the ppp man pages. Everything is working just fine, except for one peculiar thing: when (and only when) ppp -direct is running, shell spawning take over 30 seconds to complete. This applies to both login and su. As soon as the incoming ppp connection is terminated, things go back to normal. Also, this applies to ANY shell spawning on ANY of the terminals on the system. This happens only when ppp is acting as a server. when I use ppp to dialout, this does not happen. Help appreciated!
