devel-git build output

Building devel/git which includes perl dependencies and issues as reported in
the UPDATING file, fails to build even after a complete wipe of the ports tree

Repo:
1. Fetched the latest version of ports via portsnap fetch update (extract after
failed build attempts and rm -rf /usr/ports).
2. cd /usr/ports/devel/git
3. make install

Expected:
Port to install successfully (was really looking forward to git gui)

Actual Results:
Several failures on perl files:
pkg-static:
lstat(/usr/ports/devel/git/work/stage/usr/local/lib/perl5/site_perl/Git.pm): No
suc h file or directory

see attached build.out for full build log
