I have just built and installed the samba-2.0.0 port, and I cannot get it working. Whenever I try to connect (using smbclient, for example), I get the following error message: session setup failed: ERRSRV - ERRbadpw (Bad password - name/password pair in a Tree Connect or Session Setup are invalid.) Swat does not work, either; the authentication also fails. I think that this problem is related to PAM, because I see the following messages in /var/log/messages: Jan 27 12:08:23 tiburon smbd: no modules loaded for `samba' service Jan 27 11:33:09 tiburon swat: no modules loaded for `samba' service I admit that I have no idea about how to use PAM. I read the manual pages, even I added a line to /etc/pam.conf defining the "samba" service, to no avail. I think that I saw some messages about this problem, but now I cannot find them (I tried to search the mailing lists, yes). I would be VERY thankful for any help! -- JMA ----------------------------------------------------------------------- José Mª Alcaide | mailto:jose@we.lc.ehu.es Universidad del País Vasco | http://www.we.lc.ehu.es/~jose Dpto. de Electricidad y Electrónica | Facultad de Ciencias - Campus de Lejona | Tel.: +34-946012479 48940 Lejona (Vizcaya) - SPAIN | Fax: +34-944858139 ----------------------------------------------------------------------- "Go ahead... make my day." - H.
