I've got a spare Tecra M1 here at work. I've just installed 5.4 RC2 on it. For the most part, it works tolerably. But X is proving to be ugly. The machine has a Trident CyberBlade vid system. I've searched the net and cobbled together a conf file but haven't been able to get it to run. The screen "melts" (slowly fades to grey with weird artifacts). This seems pretty well-documented on the net and most recommend using Options "ShadowFB" "true" in the configuration file. Annoyingly, that worked for me in Linux (SuSE 9.2, which ran well). Doesn't work in FreeBSD. I'm using the Xorg 6.8.2 dist. I'd like to know if anyone out there is using this machine or vid chip. Can I have your configuration file? Please? I'm happy to post logs and my current conf file if anyone thinks it could be helpful. Thanks, John
