ok. long time Linux user. found FreeBSD. won't touch Linux with a 10-foot pole anymore these days. i know it's better, i just don't know exactly why. i've used it and i like it more than i like linux is probably the answer. but how do i convince others that linux is probably not the correct choice? at the place that i hope to be hired, they have a web-farm of x86 hardware running linux. i think FreeBSD would be better, but i couldn't write it all down and tell them why, i just KNOW. why does Hotmail run FreeBSD instead of Linux? what did somebody there know to tell the higher-ups that i don't have the first clue about? my higher-ups will all be technical people, so tech-speak isn't going to confuse/scare them at all. sooooo.......... why is FreeBSD better than Linux. technical information is requested along with possible testing scores (benchmarks, uptimes, whatever can be collected to assist the cause) i'm looking for a comprehensive comparison between FreeBSD and Linux. If there is nothing out there already (meaning web pages) i will GLADLY put all collected information into a web page. (although i'll have to bug my web designer friend to help me so the layout looks good and not like crap. i just don't seem to have any layout skills whatsoever.) -brian To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
