Find articles/books, and install a free unix OS. Go to the newbies page, mpc.com has some (old) free books, do a few searches, and so on. Some people have said its good to read from the questions list, but personally I think its better to get some knowledge under your belt before you subscribe (thus understandable). Read the news (slashdot, daemon news), and places like freebsd rocks and the freebsd diary. goodluck..
