You don't need them, but there's a good chance you'll want them.=20

Long story, short version: with raidz and mirror, you survive the loss of a d=
isk. If you put boot on one, and that's the disk you loose, you're up shit c=
reek, having chosen not to bring a paddle. ;)

It's also not a lot to loose by putting it on all of them.=20

For swap, there's also performance-reasons.=20
