There are plenty of people reading my messages, but they are not nearly as prone to surges of powerful emotion and religious fervor as are those who feel most compelled to respond to them. I keep hoping that the more emotional among these people will either filter me out or control their emotions well enough to reply in less puerile ways, but unfortunately the ones most likely to veer into tirades also seem to be unable to resist the desire to read what I write and reply to it. It's rather like other highly religious people who object loudly and obviously to pornography, but continue to seek it out so that they can complain about it. The real motivation behind this, of course, is that such people are not content to prevent themselves from seeing things they don't like--it is imperative for them that they prevent the rest of the world from seeing things they don't like as well. As for me, I never filter anyone, because I actually prefer to read other opinions as well as my own.
