The current release of FreeBSD is 2.1.6. 4.4BSD is the version number of
the base code, but is not used when referring to the FreeBSD version. 

Try using the wu-ftpd port in ports/net.
ftp.freebsd.org:/pub/FreeBSD/ports-current/net/wu-ftpd
