Just as another data point, I installed 2.0.5R onto a system with an ET4000-based card (some ancient Sigma Designs card w/512K max RAM) without any problems. I eventually stopped using the ET4000 card only because it didn't support high resolutions with XFree86. I'm now using an ET4000/W32i- based card, but this is because I had an extra one laying around (this isn't perfect, as XFree86 seems to have a bug that can cause the console to lock up when the accelerated XF86_W32 server is used). -- Darryl Okahata Internet: darrylo@sr.hp.com DISCLAIMER: this message is the author's personal opinion and does not constitute the support, opinion or policy of Hewlett-Packard or of the little green men that have been following him all day.
