Yes, the "keyboard" driver should work. That's not the problem. Trouble is 
"keyboard" driver is deprecated and "kbd" driver doesn't work. I'll probably 
play with it some more when I get some time now that X can work on Ultra5.
For now xorg-server port defaults to "keyboard" driver on sparc64, so it 
should work out-of-the-box. Are you saying you have xorg-server-6.8.2_2 and 
you had to remove patch-sparc64kbd to make "keyboard" driver work? That patch 
is for "kbd" driver, but it doesn't quite solve problems; it shouldn't effect 
"keyboard" one though.
