It's very hard to find cases that accept the 11 inch long adaptec 2400A, even if you unscrew the handle. Getting a deep case of 25 or 26 inches long and/or 2U or 3U is no assurance that the PCI slot space is 11 inches. And if you ask the rackmount sales person, they usually don't know, and they've got to measure, and then there's room for error and interpretation. So, it's a bitch of a card to provision cases for. The Promise SX4000 looks to be equal or better and cheaper, but also shorter, but not supported under freebsd, yet.
