well.. basically you are doomed.. :) nah! don't giveup.. infact you can look for couple of things... dmesg output (detecting u'r linksys dev) pccardc dumpcis ouput vmstat -i dhclient (messages in logs) what else ?? just pump it in and let us see what is going on.
