Mozilla has detailed instructions for moving your profile folder to another machine[1] or making a backup[2]. I suggest you try one of those. It has been my observation that the way Mozilla apps handle data is not exactly KISS, with copied profiles not working for unclear reasons. Maybe t= hat's inevitable, but this is one of the reasons I still prefer old fashioned mbox files.
