--fBqQpc7a1WKmFRvO Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii; format=flowed Content-Disposition: inline Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, What's the advantage in updating a port over using its=20 own ecosystem? examples: www/nextcloud and www/drupal9 These are popular programs which, because they are popular, present a vulnerability vector from a security standpoint if they're not kept up-to-date, and also if their dependencies aren't kept up-to-date. Isn't it better for these to use their own ecosystem to keep up-to-date? Drupal releases updates seemingly every month. Right now, ports is at 9.3.7 yet the latest is 9.3.9. 9.3.7 has two current CVEs for -core, according to their website. I have used the ports system to for example install nextcloud, getting it all working then moving its dir from www/nextcloud to=20 www/nextcloud1, purging it from ports then moving it back. Do others install then use drupal in the same fashion? --=20 J. --fBqQpc7a1WKmFRvO Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- iQIzBAABCAAdFiEE8n3tWhxW11Ccvv9/s8o7QhFzNAUFAmI7qN0ACgkQs8o7QhFz NAVc4RAAmKMUncpCYz/FMR5l/YdNcGjsoSxoJgejLVeZCezCJTLR/asoKgwtc0ez 5yci5gsimd6fgFC6rWJRgtlHknI1mLY6Sw3jPsAVo0oc9X/zwdQHjdc2O5i+AYwS VQFV58pskG2MODrWoCstgw4LK6B9aa+Y5uNuGwRjULacfRy549wpZPmWBSPuFuq5 YxQIBgyF+6cnP3TI+gysPyzAQyeoa3fEAbYmZ8uOYUHAZafl/No9P3D26BGV4Rp4 DSIj9DeCGC1WJUX36/ij8H/99e+TPJYvbfl0W4HG4WwiUZa5npXrTQ3JYbhaYRi8 /7PQHiMmnb3iDCiCMXK2S81FtAM7wMHkpUC/g60O76cH+cKIw35IATc2TkLGbJ9D VqGZ6itcsxNRWutsuX+86R13HRJde/2rX5QjonXAwJwcs4uqaNGwe/oExd7hdcJb tvCMg1pByZA7XaEt2+8aDyHd9lG+3kU0TnYzF25H4AXb7aaqcTA12rHRaqQPXjXs +BxRzHMPG++yNSEdBDyZguxxvGejbRUfUSR0AXdj1A3cKqM+d1LT2FyenfD2f4N3 NNMLGY/I/eN7QHmtr82ScS3v83gzs4ohlOfJDdtm7RNh9Y8zPB+TTI6dp9LvIVWv 8CpP2XNDl2iz4Ps/TIDkiVLsudGSwMYsY9CBK4wu0Za+SbKqR5o= =oTdh -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --fBqQpc7a1WKmFRvO--
