Without going into lengthy detail, I'll just say that something went wrong with MySQL and I spent a lot of time but couldn't fix the problem. Someone told me to just reinstall MySQL. I had just upgraded my ports so a "make deinstall" from /usr/ports/databases/mysql323-server wouldn't work. I tried pkg_delete and it was able to delete some pieces but complained that it couldn't delete everything. I then tried to use pkg_delete again to delete mysql323-client but it wouldn't delete it and complained about depencies. I know that most of the MySQL stuff is located in /usr/local/ Would it be possible to delete all the MySQL related stuff in /usr/local/ and then reinstall from ports? How will this affect my install of Apache/mod_php4? Thanks Joe Joe Warner | Sr. Operations Technical Analyst | Siemens Health Service= s | 215 N.
