Help!

I've noticed when I now use adduser (in FreeBSD 2.2.5) the password 
doesn't work. If I go and change the password with the passwd command it 
then works.

I have the des libraries installed. What else do I need to do? What is 
the problem here?

I asked this question before and someone said to install the DES 
libraries which I did...and it didn't work.
