Currently the port defaults to 8-bit encoding, but has an option for HI10P. Is this the option that was used that handbrake is outputting the error with? If so, and it turns out that x264 & handbrake need to be build similarly together (8 vs 10 bit), then perhaps we could look at creating a x264-hi10p slave port for those ports like handbrake to depend on.
