There is no reason you can not have an EISA config file for ISA cards, infact it is a Good Idea to have them so that the EISA config program will handle conflict resolution for you! The reason the 1540.cfg file is on the FTP site is adaptec left it out of all the early 1740 floppy kits but put it in the later ones and other folks wanted it so Roy put it up with the other stuff.
