Unfortunately, if you do that, the libxml2 build still fails with if lzmalib is installed. I agree that we can get rid of the ${LOCALBASE} parts of CPPFLAGS & LDFLAGS (the -I/usr/local/include and -L/usr/local/lib are added by configure due to --with-iconv). But we still need some way to deal with the lzmalib conflict by doing one of the other things I mentioned or force the use of the base lzma (or ??)...
