Hmm, interesting.  Do you know if there was ever a FreeBSD driver for it?

One other thing I didn't mention about the Alteon-based boards is that the
firmware source is available for them, without an NDA.  You can compile it
with a gcc cross compiler under FreeBSD.

Hmm, I didn't know there was a GigE version of that card.  I don't see any
mention of it on their web page...  (seems to be a common theme today)
