Gee. August is when kan updated the compiler. Looks like there is either
an error in the update or a latent error in avifile that was not
detected by the prior compiler asserted itself.

I suspect the fix is trivial, but it w=ill take someone with C++/g++
knowledge I lack.

Off to ports I go!
