Yes, I saw similar results with a recent 3.2-stable kernel, but
not with a kernel from around July.

Same hardware.

On the same box, with a kernel from the end of august, top takes about 20
seconds to display the list.

Reboot with an older kernel, and it comes up in 1-2 seconds...

Never could find a reason, so I ripped it out and put in single UNI boards
for this application, and I'm happy.
