I disabled Spell checker from gedit Preferences > Plugins, close (it crashed as you said) but afterwards, it doesn't report a crash anymore! I re-enabled it just to double check and it brought back the error messages. I confirm that Spell checker is enabled by default. This is the version that I have running: # pkg_info | grep aspell aspell-0.60.4_3 Spelling checker with better suggestion logic than ispe= ll By the way, I am running on 6-RELEASE as found: # uname -a FreeBSD three.fibre 6.0-RELEASE FreeBSD 6.0-RELEASE #0: Thu Nov 3 09:36:13 UTC 2005 =20 root@x64.samsco.home:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC i386 Thanks everybody, Michael
