I got it fixed. All that was needed was: .Open the "system" panel and select "File Manager (super user mode) .log in as root and then go to /home/(user directory)/Desktop .Right click on each one of the icons and select "properties", "permissions" .The following rights need to be given to user, group and others: User = show + write + change into Group = Show + change into Others = Show + change into .Make sure the owner and group are the same for each icon. Thanks again, Joe |--------+-----------------------> | | David Johnson| | | | | | | | | 08/10/00 | | | 11:16 AM | | | | |--------+-----------------------> >---------------------------------------------------------| | | | To: Joe Warner/SMS@SMS | | cc: freebsd-newbies@freebsd.org | | Subject: Re: Stupid Question...? | >---------------------------------------------------------| Joe.Warner@smed.com wrote: > > ... What is happening is that the file the records where the icons are is not writable by you. I can't remember it's name, but it's somewhere under ~/.kde/share. You should browse around for a file without write permission. It's something to do with the desktop or kfm.
