I see no ports which will not works with GNU iconv while they works with iconv. Functionally interface it the same and old iconv supports less amount of charsets and is buggy (alpha coredumps, i386 dead loops). I think we can 1) Install giconv without g prefix 2) Mark iconv as BROKEN 3) Let corresponding port maintainers remove 'g' prefix hack patches. -- Andrey A.
