Because he might not want to mount everything?
Mind you, if it's a quest for the shortest command to mount everything
in your fstab then, if you're running csh as your shell, add
alias m 'mount -a'
to ~/.cshrc then you just need to type ``m <RETURN>'',
2 keystrokes :^)
