Software Engineer Staff -- Junos OS Security

Join the high-energy Junos Software Security Team in our mission to harden

and enhance the resiliency of Juniper routers, switches, and firewalls. We

seek a software engineer who is passionate about and professionally

committed to system security development.

The winning candidate will make major contributions to ensure the

resiliency and correctness of Juniper's network operating systems,

including Junos OS and embedded Linux-based systems, so all security

requirements are fulfilled.

Implement system security designs that provide end-to-end integrity and

protection, from CPU reset to run-time signature verifications. Identify,

analyze, and protect all the software, firmware, and hardware components

so that integrity breaches can be discovered. Implement secure boot and

measured boot on one or more router, switch, or firewall platforms. Adhere

to Trusted Computing Group (TCG) standards if possible and pursue

proprietary approaches if necessary. Support the Remote Attestation of

network devices. Extend the integrity architecture so that all objects are

verified prior to execution, using the Linux IMA (Integrity Messaging

Architecture) and Extended Verification Module (EVM). Work across

platforms and systems to maximize re-use of design elements, code, unit

tests, and key management methods. Collaborate closely with senior

software engineers, hardware engineers and manufacturing to deliver

solutions that are both secure and practical.

Qualifications

* Experience developing system security features is a requirement

* Intermediate to Advanced C/C++ programming skills

* Previous work experience or equivalent academic work in one or more of

the following: FreeBSD, Linux, secure/measured boot, remote attestation,

BIOS, u-boot, GRUB, IMA/EVM, disk encryption, host-based intrusion

detection

* Must be a self-motivated team player with a record of delivering

solutions
