I could solve a lot o' problems with firewalls, load balancers, web
servers and the like if I had an implementation of VRRP (the IETF spec
for Cisco HSRP-like fail-over functionality.

A quick web search turns up plenty of hits on the spec itself -- which
doesn't seem outrageously complex -- and a list of vendors and
interops. But no open source implementation.

Any thoughts?
