Heh--I read it, believe me.  For voodoo5 there were a couple of other 
resources as well, both on Xfree86's website and one from (IIRC) Oregon 
University.  However, I didn't have success--and actually, when I posted 
the steps I'd followed, someone pointed out that parts of it were trying to 
get it running in 3d, let alone 2d.  :)

However, thank you.  It never hurts to ask the obvious (I know I've missed 
the obvious several times.)  As it does see that some people have gotten it 
working out of the box, I'm going to post the link on Xfree's site to see 
if that helps him.
