I will test it "sometime".. I don't currently (as in, really) use PAM..
but I do use X4.0.1, and could apply a patch like this & rebuild etc.
so this would be another thing in the middle of my queue...

We used to have Rich Murphy <rich@FreeBSD.org>, but I doubt he's ever
done anything as a "FreeBSD liaison"...  he did show up at BSDCon...
