Subject: Presario + Adaptec = SCSI hang
Message-ID: <x5pvukniac.fsf@wellserv.com>

Does anyone have experience with 2.2.1-RELEASE (CD installed) on hardware
similar to the following:

	Compaq Presario 992 w/48M RAM
	Adaptec 1542B
everything else is stock (kind of)

I occasionally experience a SCSI 'lockup/hang' with this setup. Log
messages are as below.

Now, I realize that I should be using a more capable box. Unfortunately,
this is what I have, and the best I can hope for is to upgrade
(inexpensively) to a PCI SCSI adapter. Meanwhile, however, is there a
software problem/solution in the driver? Or will I have to bite bullet
and get the new adapter?

Thanks very much,
Paul
